Résumé: An alternative modulation technique, called multi-ring DPSK (MR-DPSK), is proposed in this letter. The proposed technique can achieve lower variation of the transmitted power and less hardware complexity than can differentially encoded amplitude-and phase-shift keying (DAPSK). It is, thus, more suitable for mobile applications due to its features of lower power dissipation, lower error probability and lower hardware complexity.
