Résumé: We analyze the spectral efficiency and cutoff rate of random spreading bit-interleaved coded-modulation based synchronous code-division multiple-access signals with minimum mean-square error multiuser receivers. Both additive white Gaussian noise and frequency nonselective Rayleigh fading channels are considered. The spectral efficiency and cutoff rate are characterized as functions of the system load, modulation schemes, and signal-to-noise ratio.
