Fat curves and representation of planar figures

Article Ecrit par: Mestetskii, L. M. ;

Résumé: A fat curve is a ` curve having a width a ; it is the trace left by a moving circle of variable radius. A union of a finite number of fat curves is called engraving. This paper describes mathematical representation of fat curves, their rendering on standard (raster) display devices, proposes a BeHzier representation for fat curves and discusses 2D modelling through engraving. A method for the approximation of arbitrary bitmap binary images by engraving is also presented.
