Article Ecrit par: Zhang, Shouqing ; Li, Ling ; Seah, Hocksoon ;

Résumé: Vectorization using algebraic curve has shown its potential in applications such as 2D computer assisted animation [Zhang S, Li L, Seah HS. Vectorization using algebraic curve. Computers and Graphics, 1998;22(1); Zhang S, Li L, Seah HS. Recursive curve "tting and rendering using algebraic curves. The Visual Computer: International Journal of Computer Graphics 1998;14(2)69}82; Bajaj C, Xu G. Data "tting with cubic a-splines. In: Kunii T, Gigante M, editors. Proceedings of the Computer: International, CGI '94, editor. Singapore: Melbourne, Australia World Scienti"c, 1996;338}46.] To support the algorithms proposed in articles [Zhang S, Li L, Seah HS. Vectorization using algebraic curve. Computers and Graphics: 1998;22(1); Zhang S, Li L, Seah HS. Recursive curve "tting and rendering using algebraic curves. The Visual Computer: International Journal of Computer Graphics 1998;14(2)69}82.], a further investigation and study on the "ne-tuning subject, especially the mutual in#uence of adjusting di!erent weights to the curve shape is carried out. This study shows that under certain circumstances, such as tuning only a few selected weights and in certain order, the in#uence to the curve shape between subsequent tunings can be reduced to minimal. Thus the subsequent "ne-tuning of weights can be carried out without signi"cantly a!ecting the e!ect of previous tunings so to guarantee a close "t of the algebraic curve to the original digital one.
