Résumé: In this letter we tackle the planning problem of the soft-permanent virtual connections (S-PVC's) in asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) networks. The private network-to-network interface (PNNI) routing standard is used to route these connections. The planning problem consists of determining the PNNI link metrics and the capacity to reserve on each ATM link that ensure the successful rerouting of the S-PVC's for all failure scenarios of interest to the network planner. A mathematical programming model is proposed and a tabu search heuristic in order to find "good" solutions. Finally numerical results are presented and analyzed.
