ملخص: A new method is proposed for the design of filters free from limit cycles and exhibiting low quantization noise. This method is based on prescribing a convenient desired phase for the transfer function. In contrast, the traditional method consists in designing first a transfer function meeting the desired specifications and then resorting to the necessary techniques to remove the unwanted finite-word length effects (limit cycles, overflow oscillations and quantization noise). Our method is simple, fast and the performance is comparable to that of the classical method in terms of specification fitting. Several examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.
