Fluoroaluminate glasses

ملخص: Glass formation was investigated in ternary systems based on AlF3 and YF3 as the main glass components. Synthesis was implemented at room atmosphere using the ammonium fluoride processing. Both quenched and cast samples were prepared. Characteristic temperatures were measured. Glass transition occurs between 300 and 430 [deg]C. Glass stability was assessed using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Glass stability increases in multicomponent glasses in the AlF3-YF3-PbF2-CdF2-MgF2 system and bulk samples could be prepared for physical characterizations. These glasses have a potential interest for infrared transmission.
