ملخص: A palaeomagnetic study carried out in the Lower Stephanian Merkala formation (Tindouf basin) pointed out two juxtaposed neighbouring components of the magnetization. The oldest one allowed a new Stephanian pole located at 32.4[deg]S and 56.6[deg]E (K= 399, A9.5 = 2.3[deg]) to be obtained. The other one results from the superimposition of this old component on a Permian remagnetization. The new Stephanian pole, associated with the previous data from the Saharan craton, allows the Stephano-Autunian segment of the African apparent polar wander path to be specified.ResumeUne etude paleomagnetique, realisee dans la formation de Merkala (bassin de Tindouf), d'age Stephanien inferieur, a mis en evidence deux composantes de l'aimantation, juxtaposees et tres voisines. La plus ancienne a permis la determination d'un nouveau pole paleomagnetique Stephanien, situe a 32,4[deg]S et 56,6[deg]E (K= 399, A95= 2,3[deg]). La seconde composante resulte de la superposition de cette composante ancienne avec une reaimantation permienne. Le nouveau pole Stephanien, associe aux donnees precedemment obtenues dans le craton saharien, permet de preciser la partie stephano-autunienne de la courbe de derive apparente du pole pour l'Afrique.
