Thermomechanical behaviour of mullite-zirconia composite

ملخص: Mullite is one of the most widely used compounds in many industrial products. It has been shown that addition of zirconia to mullite improves its mechanical properties, particularly at high temperature. Some investigations have been attempted to explain the fracture toughening of this material. In this paper, the mechanical properties of mullite-zirconia composite have been determined from room temperature up to 1400 [deg]C. The thermomechanical behaviour of this material is sensitive to the phase transformation of zirconia. The obtained results are presented and discussed.
