ملخص: Quality of Artemia from Chott Marouane (Northeast Algeria) was evaluated using biometrics, biochemicals, and cysts hatching descriptors. Hydrated cysts measured 236.5 [mu]m, while the freshly hatched nauplii of Artemia measured 428.7 [mu]m for a weight of 2.3 [mu]g. Cysts that were treated with hydrogen peroxide had a hatching percentage of 69%, which corresponded to an efficiency of 0.44 g. Time required to obtain 90% hatch is 37.5 h. The hatching synchronization time was of 12.5 h. The fatty acids identification showed that the n-3 serial was strongly dominant representing 21.71% to 25.21% of the total fatty acids analyzed. Low level of EPA (1.25%) and DHA absence were noted.
