ملخص: The French "Geometry and Robotics" workshop was held at the LAAS-CNRS in Toulouse (France), May 26-28, 1988. The scientific program consisted of 22 contributions of which 20 are contained in the present volume. The contributions covered several important areas. Algebraic geometry has yielded methods that are very general but appear to be extremely difficult to implement. Results in this area are presented from both a theoretical and a practical point of view. Several papers are concerned with computational complexity issues. These issues are of major concern in robotics and the work in this area is now recognized as an autonomous discipline, christened computational geometry. Projective geometry and algebraic topology find natural applications in computer vision. More suprinsingly, Grassmann geometry is also useful in analyzing the mechanics of some kind of manipulators, the so-called "Parallel manipulators".
